The beauty of 1-2-1 training is that you can work on exactly what you want to achieve. We offer sessions online, in and around your home, or locally at our venue in Stafford, depending on what you want to work on.

Vay offers 1-2-1 sessions in Heelwork to Music and Freestyle (doggie dancing) and performance fundamentals for any dog sport, both online and from our venue in Stafford.
What you might want to work on
- Improving motivation and relationship. If you have a dog who goes off sniffing, runs off to play without you, can’t focus on training or just isn’t interested, we can help.
- Improving the clarity of your training and cues.
- Putting together a new routine or polishing one you already have.
- Teaching some cool new moves, or troubleshooting existing ones.
- Competition preparation.
- Foundations for puppies and beginner dogs.
1-2-1 at home
If you are struggling with day-to-day life with your dog we will usually offer training sessions at your home and on your usual walks. Dogs can behave differently in different places, and your environment will dictate which strategies are best or even possible for you.
Areas we regularly work with:
- Recall, including dogs who aren’t interested in treats on a walk.
- Fear issues, for example fear of people, other dogs, or travelling in the car.
- Reactivity (barking or lunging at other dogs or people).
- Border collies, including chasing or herding cars, other dogs and children.
- Learning to cope with vet visits.
We find a lot of dogs don’t behave well because they are uncomfortable in their body, even if they are not obviously in pain. We work closely with Maisie from Stafford Vet Physio, who has a good understanding of the needs of reactive and fearful dogs and can work wonders with dogs that “would never tolerate physio”.
We are happy to work with dogs who struggle with other dogs, with people they don’t know, and dogs who can’t work in a class environment for a number of different reasons.
